Cavasso Creek
A quick but productive bridge stop where tidal water, mud, and marsh edge can concentrate shorebirds and waders.
Cavasso Creek is one of those classic short-stay birding stops that rewards a careful scan. Depending on water levels and season, the creek and adjoining marsh can hold herons, egrets, gulls, terns, and an assortment of shorebirds. It works especially well as part of a Lamar Peninsula circuit, giving birders an efficient roadside look at estuarine habitat without a long walk.
