Copano Bay Causeway South

A productive winter waterbird stop where the protected cove can hold ducks, loons, mergansers, and shorebirds.

Copano Bay Causeway South is one of the better quick-scan sites for wintering waterbirds around Rockport. The cove often shelters ducks and diving birds, and the shoreline can add turnstones, sandpipers, and waders. Because parking is close to the birding area, it works especially well for guests who want strong viewing with minimal walking.
