Rockport Birding Sites Β· Site #6
π
Lamar Navigation District Dock
A north-side causeway stop with easy shoreline access and good open-water scanning, especially when wind direction favors the cove.
This launch area on the Lamar side of the causeway is useful for checking the protected shoreline and adjacent bay waters. On calmer days it can be good for loons, mergansers, grebes, gulls, and terns, while the shell edge and nearby flats may hold waders and shorebirds. It is also a practical stop for tours because it offers quick access and broad views without a long walk.
